Bathroom Plastering

Plastering is often required when installing a new bathroom.   This is especially the case if you have artex ceilings which are no longer considered desirable.  When planning a new bathroom it is best to skim the ceiling first rather than as an afterthought.  A flat ceiling will make a drastic change to your bathroom but more importantly a flat ceiling will always make the room seem and look bigger when compared to an artex ceiling.

Walls can often be damaged when removing the old tiles so plastering is needed to make them level again.  In some cases, in modern homes, when removing the old tiles it is easier to not only remove the tiles but also remove the damaged plasterboard too.  New plasterboard can be fitted relatively easily but more importantly it offers a smooth flat finish to tile on to as well.  It should be pointed out that plasterboard does not need to be skimmed before tiling can take place.  In fact, bare plasterboard holds far more tile weight per metre square than skimmed plasterboard.
