Middlewich Bathroom Renovation

Portfolio No Comments

Our client already had a large bathroom with a bath and separate shower that had been installed three years ago. Unfortunately the shower area had not been tanked which led to large amounts of mould. The first job was to remove the shower, tiles and damaged plaster. We then used standard plasterbaord to set the walls level again and tanked these with a tanking membrane sourced from Porcelanosa. A new low profile larger shower tray was fitted along with a new minimalist shower valve and new tiles.

Our client also wanted tiling around the bath area, WC wall and sink wall.  A new sink was installed with a cupboard underneath. Plaster coving was installed to match the coving throughout the property.

Because our client wanted a more dramatic effect, he asked that wallpaper be put up on two walls. Although wallpaper is not an obvious choice for a bathroom due to high moisture levels etc, our client said that making sure that windows and doors were open would reduce the moisture effect on the paper and that having a dramatic colour change on the walls was worth it.

To finalise the new look of the room an antique style radiator was fitted in place of the old radiator.
