Project Description

This had been a tired old bathroom. The clients did not need the bath anymore as they already had a bath in the Ensuite so they preferred the idea of a large walk-in shower.

The main task was to try and make the room feel more spacious yet functional. As the floor joists did not run in a favourable direction we had to build a platform for the shower tray. This platform was fully tanked and bonded to the walls to create a watertight area before the tiles were installed.

As the property had a vented hot water system a shower pump was installed in the airing cupboard. This gave a welcome water pressure boost to the Grohe diverter shower valve which fed a riser system and 300mm overhead rain shower.

Part of making the room feel bigger involved keeping items off the floor so a wall hung vanity unit and wall hung toilet were fitted, both from Villeroy & Boch. The toilet cistern frame was from Geberit.

Grey Porcelanosa tiles were used on the walls with a feature 3D tile in the shower area. To compliment the greys, new LED lighting was installed and daylight bulbs were used.
