Project Description

The original bathroom in Hartford had only been installed a recently by the previous owners but it had been fitted badly. This led to rapid mould growth which in turn made the room even worse.

The clients wanted a fully tiled room as well as new lighting and under floor heating. We installed 4 new chrome downlights along with a loose wire electrical under floor heating system. The heating system was laid on 10mm thermal boards which had been glued and screwed to the existing floor.

A new shower valve was fitted along with a larger bath and screen. The bath area was completely tanked using a Mapei liquid tanking system. Porcelain tiles were fitted to the walls and floor. Because porcelain is a heavy material, this meant that two of the walls needed to be reboarded. Porcelain tiles are too heavy for skimmed walls so we always reboard not only because it’s right but primarily for safety reasons.
